KITP APPOINTS SURAJ SHANKAR FOR FALL GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP

Graduate student, Suraj Shankar was one of six graduate students to be selected as a KITP Graduate Fellow for the Fall of 2017. This is a highly competitive, prestigious fellowship, and a unique opportunity for a select group of physics graduate students to spend the Fall at the KITP, participate in KITP research programs, and broaden their understanding of physics in areas of current research. This fellowship is designed to round out the education of top students so that they are well prepared to become good academic postdocs and future faculty positions. Many of the past awardees are now leaders in their field.

Suraj will be mentored by Boris Shraiman – a distinguished theoretical physicist who works on biologically inspired problems and one of four current KITP permanent members.

Congratulations to Suraj on this prestigious honor!
