The article Geometric frustration and solid-solid transitions in model 2D tissue has been accepted for publication in Physical Review Letters. In this work, we develop a continuum theory of the Vertex Model and identify a transition between a soft elastic solid with compatible target perimeter and area to a stiffer nonlinear elastic solid frustrated by geometric incompatibility.’
