Mark Bowick’s Soft Matter Group on Graphene Kirigami and Metamaterials
Our group is working to understand the effects of thermal fluctuations on graphene kirigami. We are exploring avenues to define cuts, slits and folds that can be made to give graphene specific behavior and in the process achieve an algorithm to develop programmable matter. We are using analytical methods and simulations to study graphene sheet and collaborating with Cornell University for conducting experiments.
